Control product update emails

Choose at signup whether to get product-update emails, and unsubscribe or resubscribe at any time.

Published

You decide whether you hear about product updates, starting the moment you sign up.

When you create an account, the form includes a checkbox for product-update emails. It is checked to start. Uncheck it and you will not receive those emails from day one.

Your choice works however you sign up, by email or with Google or GitHub. It is saved once at signup, so signing in later will not undo a change you made afterward on your account page or through an unsubscribe link.

Newsletter-style emails, like first-steps emails, also work with the Unsubscribe button in your inbox. In Gmail and Outlook you will see Unsubscribe next to the sender, so you do not have to hunt for a link in the message. Only these kinds of emails include it. Notices about your own account and products do not, because there is nothing to unsubscribe from.

If you unsubscribe by mistake

Email scanners sometimes open every link automatically. That is why the unsubscribe link does not stop emails right away. It opens a page that asks you to confirm first.

After you confirm, the page tells you where to turn the emails back on in your account settings. You do not need to find an old email to resubscribe. Links in older messages still work.
