Move a product to another organization

Move a product to another organization you own without losing data or code connections.

Published

You can move a product to another organization you own when teams change or you want your work grouped differently.

You keep your data and your code connections. Your GitHub connections move with the product, so sync continues and you do not need to reconnect anything.

Before you move

Moving changes who can see the product. People who had access through the old organization lose it, and the rules and members of the new organization apply instead. If you work with others, tell them about the move first.

How to move a product

  1. Open Settings for the product you want to move.
  2. Start the move to another organization you own.
  3. Read the confirmation screen carefully. It shows who loses access, what happens to each connected repository, and whether the product name is free in the new organization.
  4. Retype the product name to confirm.

You cannot undo the access change by yourself. If someone needs access again, invite them in the new organization. See Create and manage workspaces and Create and manage products.
