Pin or collapse the sidebar

You can keep navigation labels always visible or give yourself more room for content. Pin the sidebar open when you want to see everything at a glance, or collapse it when you want a cleaner workspace.

How to switch modes

Select the button in the sidebar footer to pin it open or collapse it. You can also press Command B on Mac or Ctrl B on Windows.

When pinned, section labels are always visible. When collapsed, you see only icons.

What to expect when collapsed

Move your mouse over the sidebar or move to it with your keyboard and it expands temporarily. It floats over your content instead of pushing it aside, so you do not lose your place.

When you move away, it tucks back to icons.
