Send a follow-up while the assistant responds

You do not have to wait for the assistant to finish before you keep talking. You can type your next thought while it is still responding and it will be included in what happens next.

This works in chat, and also while the assistant is filing or planning a request for you. It helps when you remember a detail, want to correct something, or want to add context without losing your train of thought.

What to expect

When you type while the assistant is working, your message appears as a small chip above the message box. You can edit it or remove it before it is sent.

When the assistant finishes its current step, it reads your added message as part of its next step. You do not need to send it again.

If you stop the assistant

If you stop the assistant in the middle of an answer while it is working on a request, what it already wrote stays on screen. You can type again right away.

You will also see a Resume button to run the step again. Any follow-up messages you added while it was working are withdrawn when you stop, so you can decide what to send again.
