Connect GitHub repositories

Bring your GitHub repositories into featury to build your product map and changelog.

Published

Connect your GitHub repositories to featury so it can explain what your software does and keep track of what you ship. Without a connected repository, there is nothing to map or summarize.

You can connect repositories from GitHub, including repositories on a private GitHub Enterprise server if your setup uses one as its Git host. Once connected, featury reads the code and keeps your product map and changelog up to date.

What to expect

Finding your repository. When you search for a repository to connect, names that start with what you typed appear first. That makes it faster to pick the right one when you have many with similar names.

Choosing branches. Branch fields suggest the real branch names from GitHub, so you do not have to remember or type them exactly. If you monitor a branch that is not the default, featury suggests the default branch as staging.

Staying accurate. If you rename a repository on GitHub, the name and default branch in featury update on their own when new activity arrives. What you see matches what is on GitHub.

If a connection stops working, see Reconnect a lost repository connection. To check the status of your sources, see Check your code sources and fix failures. To set how featury watches new commits, see Keep your repositories in sync automatically.
