Show or hide your password as you type
Show what you typed in any password field to catch typos before you submit.
You can check what you typed before you submit. Every place that asks for a password lets you take a quick look, so you catch typos on tricky phone keyboards and avoid failed sign-ins.
Look for the eye icon inside the password box. Select it to show what you typed, and select it again to hide it.
What to expect:
- You will find it everywhere you type a password, including Sign in, sign-up, password reset, invite acceptance, and account settings.
- You can use it in the middle of typing. Your place in the text does not move.
- Each box works on its own. Showing one password does not show the others on the same screen, for example when you type a new password twice to confirm it.
- You can reach it with keyboard and screen reader as well as a mouse or touch.
If you still cannot sign in after checking your password, see Sign in and stay signed in or Reset a forgotten password. To change your password later, see Update your profile and password.
