Sign in with an emailed code

Type the 6-digit code from your email to finish signing in when you cannot open the link on the same device.

Published

You can finish signing in even when you cannot open the email link on the same device where you started.

When you get the sign-in email, type the 6-digit code from that email to complete sign-in. This is useful if you start on one phone or computer and read email on another.

How it works

Start signing in from Sign in, then choose Email me a code if you want a code instead of a link. Open the email on any device and enter the 6-digit code where asked.

The same code option also works when you create a new account, accept an invite, or reset a forgotten password. You do not need to open the link on the original device.

What to expect

  • The code is in the same email as the sign-in link.
  • Sign-up emails arrive in the language you used when you signed up.

If you need background on signing in, see Sign in and stay signed in. To create an account, see Create your account and sign in. To reset a password, see Reset a forgotten password.
