Unstick a request stuck in progress

If a request stays in progress after its linked work was closed without delivery, it now moves back automatically.

Published

A request can show as In progress when it is linked to work in progress. You want that status to stay true, so you know what is really being built.

Sometimes the link is wrong, or the work is closed without being finished. Before, the request could stay stuck in In progress forever.

Now you do not need to fix it yourself. If the linked pull request is closed without being merged, or its branch is removed, the request automatically moves back to the stage it was in before.

What to expect:

  • The request leaves In progress on its own
  • Its history still shows what happened
  • If work starts again with a new link, it will move forward again
