Understand error messages and what to do
featury errors explain what went wrong and what to do next, in your language, with wait times and clear next steps.
When something goes wrong in featury, you see what happened and what to do about it, in your language. The goal is simple. You can fix it yourself without contacting support.
featury shows messages in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Each message names the cause and the next step in one short pair, for example what failed and whether to wait or check something.
What to expect:
- A plain explanation. A connection problem says so and suggests what to check. If you need to wait, the message states the wait in plain words, such as in 45 seconds.
- A Try again button only when trying again can help. If it cannot help, you will not see the button.
- A small reference number on error screens. Keep it if you contact support so the team can look up what happened.
Sign in and account screens follow the same idea. If you type something wrong, the screen explains it and what to correct. If the sign in service itself is down, the screen says the server ran into a problem and to try again soon. Temporary outages are reported as temporarily unavailable instead of an unexpected error.
Copy buttons also explain themselves. If copying fails, the button shows a warning and the message tells you what to do instead, such as copying the text by hand or downloading the file.
Pages keep their content when a background refresh fails. You stay where you are and simply get the option to try again. Learn more in Keep your place when a refresh fails and Use featury with strict privacy settings.
